SAMTRAC®

SAMTRAC was an interesting project. Not an "e-learning made from scratch project" but an in-house update and maintenance of the existing content. I was hired at NOSA (SafetyCloud now) with no experience in any e-learning development, sent on a 2 day course and told, go through SAMTRAC and fix factual errors, broken interactions and update legislation where applicable. It was a daunting task for a novice no nothing barely graduated kid. I took it in stride and went through it all line by line for all the modules of SAMTRAC International, more than 3000 slides and layers made in Articulate Storyline 2. Shortly after that the same process was implemented for SAMTRAC Mining, but with a little bit more content changes and stylistic updates from the graphics team in R&D.

During this process, we also implemented a customized Moodle 2.4 environment and administrating that was initially part of my duties but was later handed over to the SAMTRAC support team. Our previous LMS (CornerstoneOnDemand) was phased out for a system under our IT departments control specifically because of the POPI act that was about to come into effect.
